PORTRAIT OF CLAIRE.
Claire didnt know that her husband was planning to have her portrait painted and it was quite a task to get a suitable photograph of her. Eventually we managed to sneak a nice portrait photograph and her husband took a photograph of her leopard tattoo, the rest was down to my imagination, so she became a part of the forest, a Dryad.. Claire adores big cats so we just had to include a beautuful tiger.

ELLIE IN THE GARDEN.
Ellie's Grandmother commissioned this piece for Ellie's parents as a Christmas gift, Ellie loves the garden especially the insects and flowers, her Mother asked for the pink dress and bumble bees.
The whole family loved the painting so much, so I was able to offer them all Special Limited Prints.
I sometimes do this just for the families who commission the paintings, its nice that Aunties and Uncles and the like can also have a signed reproduction and of course her parents still had the original painting to cherrish.

PORTRAIT OF EMILY AND HER PUMPKIN.
I was asked to paint a portrait of this little girl, Emily, she is just so adorable, how could I say no?I was told that one of her favourite times of the year was Halloween and she just loved to pick out the pumpkin, so we agreed after I did the sketch (initial sketch) that Emily would be a harvest/field fairy along with some little harvest mice for company.
The painting was drawn first with pencil then I added watercolour to the features (just to make sure I had captured Emily?s likeness I sent the sketch via e-mail to her aunty for approval). Then I was able to continue with the painting using watercolour and pen.

PORTRAIT OF KERRY- FAIRY BRIDE.
This portrait was a bit of a challenge, Kerry's husband Gray was desperately trying to keep the painting a secret, and we were limited to the photographs we were able to use, I managed to take away the hair from Kerry?s face and by sending the sketch to her husband via e-mail we managed to get a reasonable likeness for the portrait, Kerry was a fairy bride dressed in beautiful lilac and burgundy colours, and because the painting was a first anniversary present Gray and I decided to use the colours from her wedding gown for the painting. It was lovely to finally get to meet Kerry and Gray when the painting was completed, since then I am delighted to announce that they now have a lovely baby boy called Sam.
Spirit of the Rainforest
Commissioned portrait, from a lady who's daughter was a ballerina, she portrayed the "Spirit of the Rainforest" in a dance production, so her parents asked me to create a painting for her. |
