The Blue Rose

A Painting for those who think that they don’t fit in or are different in one-way or another… The Blue Rose is not the same at the other roses in the garden; it is unique and just as beautiful, if not more so. The Blue Rose is what makes this garden special and magical. Imagine how boring things would be if we were all the same. I told a friend about this painting when I was thinking about the idea, at the time we were watching the Commonwealth games here in the U.K. in one of the swimming events we saw a competitor who had been in an accident previously and her leg had been amputated, even so she was allowed to compete against able bodied athletes, she didn’t win but she showed such courage….My friend turned to me and said “There’s your Blue Rose” and I knew then that she had understood what I was trying to say in my painting…I hope you can see it too…
